Description:
This game was created with a team in my game modification workshop. We created the game by modding the playable demo, Super Carnage, which would later go on to become Hotline Miami. We overhauled the game's mechanics to create slower methodical pacing and changed the theme to a black and white noire style. The game featured three complete levels alongside multiple endings. In Carnage Noire you play as both the killer and the cop in a top-down shooter. In each level you first assume the role of Carnage Guy as you massacre your way from location to location, then you take on the role of the detective to unpack and solve the murders you have just committed. 

Take-away:
I had to quickly learn in this project both how to upgrade out-of-date code and work with other people's designs that you could not connect with for clarifications. We had to bring all features to modern GameMaker 2 standards as well as figure out how the original designers systems interacted. In the future we would like to add more levels to the game along with updating the door interactions.
